Week old duckling not thriving and has a wet vent

I know what you mean! I made an account over 4 years ago but forgot the password and email, and never made a new one till this year! I'm glad you joined us! It's always nice to have more duck lovers on here!

I love my ducks! Right now, I have 21 Pekin/Rouen/Indian Runners.
 
Kinda wondering if it is a genetic condition from what you describe? Poor little things...
Could be. I've only had 2-3 out of about 75 hatchlings, so the odds are not too bad.
Sometimes, no matter how good we care for them, nature has a way of taking care of the weak.

It sounds like it might be a prolapse issue. I've had certain hatches of chicks who get crop issues, and suspect those might be related to temperatures during incubation.
