Yup, lots of times! In fact, we were VERY close to doing a recurring one where members make a list of which other members they wanted interviewed along with a list of questions like "Why did you get chickens" "Tell us about your first chickens" "What has been most helpful to you while raising chickens" etc.
Problem was, it takes a lot of organization and time to put something like this together... especially recurring. So, it is on the todo list, but just hasn't been something we've had the time to do.
Understood, that would consume some time, I hope you get to try in the future. I know listening to other podcasters they express the same issue when they started out, time was the main factor. I seem to find a common approach that worked for them was to treat it as a weekly unwind session, instead of drumming it up into a big production. 1 group that I listen to has a Sunday night dinner and after the dinner they turn on the digital recorder and kinda sum up the week of events for about an hour. It's funny to listen to them start out some weeks by talking about how stuffed they are...
Truly appreciate all of the work you are already doing and wish you the best of luck. THANKS
My dream: We'd have a list of set questions. One BYC member would interview someone, ask the questions, etc. Then next week the interviewed member would interview a different member, and the process would continue rolling. Sounds like lots of fun, but would be tricky to manage and record.
That's a vidcast. Podcasts are just audio. There is probably some VOIP phone service that allows for recordings. Two people call a phone number and the interview is recorded and saved as an mp3. That would be cool.
I would be willing to get it started. I am a Systems Engineer for a local Casino for the past 6 years and in the computer industry for the past 18. I've been looking to start up my own web cast, actually a video cast and have people join in every sunday evening in the chat room and go over all the topics of the week or topics everyone is currently gearing up for, like hatching this spring.
Open the show with new announcements
upcoming events, topics of today's show and any guest callers (Skype headsets can be mailed to guest) that will be joining us in this episode
then start the show and answer a few questions from the chat room
