I am ready to admit defeat

I do believe that my chick is a roo

I decided to just sit outside and look at all of them, not as a proud chick mommy who loves all of my pullets...but as a proud chick mommy who just wants to do the best for my flock. I can see what everyone is pointing out about my chick. Even though his comb & wattles (sp?) aren't deep red (which is what I told myself I needed to see) they are much redder than the 2 red sex link pullets. Here is a pic of one of my RSL pullets with my RSL roo

The RSL pullets are almost a yellow color with a slight hint of pink. I love all of my chicks and really want to try to keep him. Even though I do believe he is a roo Im going to wait for his crow, not because Im still holding for an egg but because Im hoping his crow is not super loud & annoying to neighbors and maybe something I can work with and keep him. If not then I will have to find him a new home. After I realized that he was a roo, I started to look long and hard at my BO mixes and noticed that one of them has a redder comb as well. Both are pretty pink but one is a little redder and sticks out a little bit more. This is a pic of my 2 8 week old BO mixes beside eachother. I know I asked last week (sorry) but what do you think, should I be worried?

Exactly what I was afraid of, I suspected that one was a roo too

I was just hoping I was bad at this stuff, unfortunately I guess I may be getting a little better at this game

If he is a roo and I get to keep one then the choice is made I will keep the friendly, sweet one and let this boy go. He doesn't seem to like us anyways

You're such a good chicken mommy to do everything you can to keep your boys. I had to give my sex-link roo away on CL, and I still miss the little guy. At least I know he's happy on a nice lady's farm, romancing a flock of hens.

Keeping one would be a stretch but 2 I think is out of the question. Especially with such a small flock already, I'd only have 3 hens for them and I think that would be a big fight. What Im wondering now is if I should keep the pullet I bought him with or not, the 2 of them lay around together, they forage together, dust bathe together and roost together. Im afraid the other BO might get lonely without him...if that even makes sense. These 2 have kind of pulled away from the RSL's, none fight they all get along great but they just dont keep with the RSL's as much. I don't know what to do, I want to keep them all
