I weighed in my project layers for my meat birds figuring they are going to go at least 6 months before getting to optimum weight

At 7 weeks the average weight is 1.4 pounds
The lowest weight was 1.2 pounds
The highest weight was 1.15 pounds

I am thinking I will need to add hens that have a higher weight so that we get some genetics for larger birds in the flock.

I am going to try and post on this every week or two so that I can use it to keep track of the project as we get going. Since they aren't even 2 months yet they have a lot of growing to do so I am not sure what their final weight will be yet. They are mix breed birds.
