My two year old goose has gradually lost her appetite during the last week or so. Today she won't even accept treats.

She looks fine, although she's molting, and she drinks, bathes and preens herself. I think she sleeps a little more than usual, but she still wants to go for walks.

During spring her weight has been between 18-20 pounds - now she weighs less than 14 pounds. I know she was on the large side, but I don't like that she doesn't eat at all. Usually she'll do anything for a treat.

Her poop is very watery with almost no flecks of solid in it.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with her?

When my gander went through molt last year i had him seriously ill and already buried, He laid around looking like he was a gonner for sure, didn't socialize with the rest of the flock at all. lost weight. But in spite of me he made it through and is fine. so hopefully that is all thats going on with your goose. I did put Poultry Nutri Drench in his water for about a week to help him through what ever he was going through , it was molt though. If I want to test my gander on if he's really sick I use w grain bread which is his favorite snack, If he doesn't eat any of it then i know something is seriously wrong, so far he hasn't refused it. I hope that is all thats going on with your girl. Is she still laying or is she through for the year?

I hope there's nothing majorly wrong with her

. Is the coloring on her bill & feet still looking okay? Maybe some vitamins/ electrolytes in her water would help, like Miss Lydia suggested?

Her last egg was almost three weeks ago, so I assume she's done laying for now.

As far as I can see, her bill and feet are the same color they've always been. If anything, she seems to be socializing even more than usual - that is, with me and her best human friend. I only have the one goose, and she's imprinted on humans.

I'm taking her to the vet today, maybe I can pick up something like Nutri Drench there.

I took her to the vet today, but she couldn't find out what is wrong. Tomorrow I'm taking her (the goose) for x-rays - she might have swallowed a nail or something.

She hasn't eaten anything at all since yesterday morning, and she's just lying around now most of the time, expressing very little interest in her surroundings.

It seems we don't have anything like Nutri-Drench in my country, so I dissolved glucose in her water in order to restore some energy.

X rays sound like a good idea. Check out this thread, though its mainly about keeping chickens cool in the heat, some have posted good alternatives to adding vitamin/ electrolytes in water that might be helpful to you goose in the meantime.

The x-ray showed an egg stuck fairly high up - it's not possible to maneuvre it without surgery.

She's on antibiotics and some laying booster kind of medicine, but so far it hasn't worked out. She's getting weaker, so if she's not better by tomorrow morning - or the egg has passed - I'm taking her in for surgery.

She did have surgery yesterday - so far, so good. Everything went fine. The vet removed a 7.6 oz. shelless egg - fairly large!

She's been home for 15 hours now, walking around a bit most mostly just standing. She did play for a while with a diaper harness I hung up to dry.

She's still not eating. My primary concern is that she doesn't seem to drink enough - her diaper is still dry. I've put bowls of water everywhere and I try to coax her into drinking by splashing the water with my finger. She's got both regular and glucose water.

In about an hour she'll get some painkiller. That is, if I succeed in getting it inside her. My neighbors are coming to help hold her - she really, really doesn't care for people stuffing things in her bill! I hope that'll help.
