no way, no giving up, not for this LOL. I have been trying to take it easy, like instead of going to the gym getting stuff done at the house that requires a lot of sweating, same result different way of getting it LOL.

I hope everybody's doing great! I saw this on another site and liked it and thought my weightloss buddies might like it too:
‎"Work on yourself each day to bring a more peaceful stance into your life. Take time to meditate, practice yoga, read poetry, go for solitary walks, play with children and animals, or do anything that will give you a feeling of loving and being loved." - Dr. Wayne Dyer

So simple. Lets take really good care of ourselves, Ok?

This is the first chance I have had to post a check in. So far, so good, in regards to healthier eating. I have been researching "gentle" exercises that I think I might be able to do, other than walking and have settled on Tai Chi.

When we were in Vietnam in 2001, adopting our son and daughter, we would see folks out on the grass doing Tai Chi every morning. It was cool to watch, because there would be young folks and old folks and all in between moving in unison. The movements are slow and precise which actually takes more exact muscle movements than most exercise of this type.

Anyone on this thread have experience with Tai Chi as an exercise, and not necessarily a martial art form? I would love to hear from you.

Hi everybody! Hope all are doing great and if you wish you were doing better at taking care of yourself, no time like the present.

As I was walking yesterday (for exercise) I realized that I wasn't enjoying it. I was walking faster than I wanted to. My joints were a little achy, the sock on my left foot kept slipping down into my shoe at the heel, and I was thinking that I'd rather be sitting and watching the chickens. And then, I thought about how when I was a little girl; I didn't 'exercise', I played. You know, played ball with the dogs, rode horses, rode my bicycle...I played. And, I usually didn't want to stop playing when it was time to come inside for supper. That's it...I've forgotten how to 'play'! So I slowed down a little and made my walk more like a 'treasure hunt'. So I took my shoe off and fixed my wandering sock and started over. This time, I looked at the ground where I was walking with the expectation of finding something wonderful. Amazing what a difference that made. When I saw anything interesting, I investigated it. Pretty rocks, a red cardinal feather, a weed that I hadn't noticed before. I enjoyed it so much! And I didn't notice my joints aching and I probably got a better workout by stopping and bending over so many times. It was fun and I look forward to doing it again...

Here's my favorite fruit salad that I had for breakfast; 1 banana, 1/2 mango and 1/2 avocado. Cut in similar size pieces and combine in a bowl. Enyoy!

yay! that's so awesome! i'm glad you are "learning to play" again. i completely agree with you that adults have lost the play aspect of exercises and that is why we all find it so loathsome. this is why i often dance to get my exercise in. i love music, and dancing is always so much fine that i only stop when my body can't take it anymore! haha. i'm still working on doing my daily exercises, some days i get so busy/lazy they don't get done, but i am making it my priority, because when i skip a day i get all stiff.

I hate the word "diet" as well. Back in February I went to the doctor because my weight had gotten way out of hand. They gave me what basically amounts to a low carb high protein diet to follow, and I slowly (and I mean slowly

) added exercise to my new eating habits back in May. I am now up to jogging 8 miles 3 times a week and actually enjoy it.

I am down 72lbs have a couple more I wouldnt mind losing, but have hit the brick wall. Even with the weight loss and exercise I have the kangaroo pouch from having c-sections and thighs that wont go away. But Im still hanging in there. I think my biggest wish with this weight loss and exercise is that I had someone local to do these things with me.

I know what you mean. I've gained and lost weight so many times in my life; and I still think of myself as a 'thin' person. I am not now, that's for sure.

As far as having skin that's not cooperating, I've noticed that wearing some sort of pressure garment while a rest actually helps. Kind of like the things that are worn after some cosmetic surgery, but it can be done with clothes. 'Spanks' is one of the brands that has some helpful things.

Oils that help with the skin are macadamia nut oil and shea butter. These alone are great for helping the skin cells do what they are supposed to do and the addition of a few drops of frankincense and/or myhrr essential oils helps further. Massaging these into the 'challenged' areas after a good exfoliation really will help. Learn about essential oils before you use them and if in doubt, always dilute them with a carrier oil (like macadamia oil).

The body/mind connection is really strong. See yourself with a perfectly functioning body, as it should be. What we resist really does persist, so see yourself as the strong, healthy and beautiful creature you are right now and enjoy the journey to better health and fitness!

Salad with marinated mushrooms and a baked sweet potato for supper! Yummm. Finished off the evening with about 1/2 cup of reishi mushroom tea with a couple drops of honey. What did y'all have?
