Hi everybody! Hope all are doing great and if you wish you were doing better at taking care of yourself, no time like the present.
As I was walking yesterday (for exercise) I realized that I wasn't enjoying it. I was walking faster than I wanted to. My joints were a little achy, the sock on my left foot kept slipping down into my shoe at the heel, and I was thinking that I'd rather be sitting and watching the chickens. And then, I thought about how when I was a little girl; I didn't 'exercise', I played. You know, played ball with the dogs, rode horses, rode my bicycle...I played. And, I usually didn't want to stop playing when it was time to come inside for supper. That's it...I've forgotten how to 'play'! So I slowed down a little and made my walk more like a 'treasure hunt'. So I took my shoe off and fixed my wandering sock and started over. This time, I looked at the ground where I was walking with the expectation of finding something wonderful. Amazing what a difference that made. When I saw anything interesting, I investigated it. Pretty rocks, a red cardinal feather, a weed that I hadn't noticed before. I enjoyed it so much! And I didn't notice my joints aching and I probably got a better workout by stopping and bending over so many times. It was fun and I look forward to doing it again...
Here's my favorite fruit salad that I had for breakfast; 1 banana, 1/2 mango and 1/2 avocado. Cut in similar size pieces and combine in a bowl. Enyoy!
