I have two Muscovy hens sitting on some eggs. I was candling then, as they hatch in 5ish days. This one has a really weird aircell? Looks like two?? Is this dangerous for the duckling at all?

I just saw that after I posted. This wasn’t shipped though, wonder what caused it..

Hm, I'm not too sure.

Always a possibility that the mother duck has been shifting that one around more often. Maybe she's bashed it around a bit to much.

Other people may know better though. I'm guessing people would suggest putting that one into an incubator due to them having difficulty hatching. If not I'd just say try and position it pointy end down under the mother.

I hope it hatches for you though!

Do you still see movement inside? Did it slosh around at all? I don’t see very strong veins, but could just be the pic.

It doesn’t look like drawdown to me, but it looks like the inner membrane has just pulled away from inside the shell. I would think the only issue might be if it got tangled in the membrane when it starts to zip, but I doubt it will be any problem.

There’s still movement, it’s alive in there. Thank you for the help!
