Weird blob?

I have a female mallard (I couldn’t find a duck page about laying issues) who has not laid in over a year. We thought she quit originally because it was starting to get cold, but she has yet to start again. They have oyster shell, plenty of food and bugs. Today she “laid” this. It’s not solid, it almost feels like a ball of fat. Any suggestions or help?

I looked but it says they usually have layers inside, this one doesn’t. It’s just a solid ball

Yep, sure looks like a 'lash egg', despite the lack of 'layers'.
I'm sure ducks can suffer this as well as chickens.
Just keep an eye on her, or might want to research antibiotics if you're of that persuasion.

How big is it?
Best to take pics with something like a quarter coin for scale.

Yes, any Birds that lays eggs can lay Lash eggs. It's caused from infection..She needs antibiotics.

Yes it’s the same duck. It’s aboht the size of a quarter. I didn’t think about references. I suppose I should take her back to the vet. Thank you all!

What was the prognosis and treatment(if any) then for her?
Curious what the vet will think now....avian vet?
