My chicken has been acting weaker and weaker every day.
I have no idea what is wrong with him except that he has a weird bump near his neck.
I have very little knowledge about this sorta thing, But I don't think this is a swollen cock because it is so near his neck.
Hes a little (1-3?) months old but is just small because of his breed.
He is apart of a little flock of 8 chickens, but he is the only one that has this.
He has had this for a couple of days now. He used to be very energetic but now he is very quiet and seems to be in pain (Or Is extremely uncomfortable?) .
Sometimes he twists his neck weird, but ever so rarely. And I think this is just because the bump is so big for this little guy.
Is there anything I can do to help him?
I have no Idea what is causing this.
I don't like seeing him like this and afraid he'll die If I just leave it.
Thanks

Can you part his feathers and take a closer look at the bump? Is it hard or soft? Where is it exactly? I can’t tell in the photo. If you can describe the bump in more detail and get some photos, that might help is in figuring it out. It could be something like a tumor, could also be something simple like a cyst or an abscess from an ingrown feather or even a bad reaction to a tick bite.

Here is a picture of the bump.

The skin is the same color from the rest, but there's that bump.
He kept trying to fly when I was holding him so this was the best I could get.

It feels soft, But not squishy like theirs liquid in it. I have no idea if its a pustule though.
EDIT: It feels hard

Scratch What I said earlier, the bump feels hard.
I just hope its not wry neck.

I found out I was right about how his bump feels.
He just had multiple bumps that felt different.
He is doing ALOT worse now.
Im pretty sure he has wry neck, and he has all these soft bumps everywhere on him.
One of his eyes are swollen shut and he has lots of snot in his nose.
He has alot of inflammation.
Now he will let you pick him up and even bring him inside the house.
He is pretty much giving up on life, Stubs just sits in the yard for hours.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of all these bumps, stop the snot, Or fix his wry neck?

Thank you.

I'm sorry this is happening to your bird. I am not an expert on Marek's disease, but that is what I would suspect at this point. The cutaneous form causes tumors in the skin, it can cause tumors through out the body. At the age of the bird and number of lumps you describe, that seems most likely. There are other virus's that can cause tumors also. The only way to positively diagnose Marek's disease is through necropsy, unfortunately. If this bird passes, then I would refrigerate the body, and send it for necropsy so that you know for sure. There is no treatment for Marek's, just supportive care. Some birds do survive, but mortality is high, and the bird that survives will be a carrier for life. If you have Marek's in your flock, then some flock management things would be different, to help prevent spread of the virus, so that's why knowing for sure is a good idea.
Here are some resources by state for necropsies:

Here is a link with some information on tumors in chickens, you can search and find many more, and there are many threads on this forum regarding Marek's disease with input by some people who have lots of personal experience with it, if that is what it turns out to be.
