Hi everyone,
My hen who is 8 years old is usually laying down so it is not surprise that she is a bit bald underneath her belly (in my opinion).
she has been having this bump underneath her on her belly For more than two weeks and it isn’t attached to skin and the stuff in it is kinda hard to move but it does move.
the past two days she has been having a scab Which is getting bigger and bigger.
it isn’t like a scab that you can pick off, it seems to be slightly under the skin but not too much. I have attached a picture and am hoping someone has advice !

It's possible it's a sore or callus from lying down so frequently. Is she laying anywhere wet or moist?

Since she does lay down sometimes she does lay in her poop sometimes and it gets stuck and her butt gets wet. I don’t believe it goes all the way down there though. She does come inside on my porch very frequently and lays in also sleeps in an egg laying box so it could be from that?

Hmm..maybe you could place something soft in the spots she lays most often? Like old blankets or towels, and see if that helps. For now you can just clean it good and put a bit of antibiotic ointment on it.
