I cracked this egg into a pan and noticed there was something weird in it. It is from our Blue Copper Marans hen, who has been laying extremely light colored eggs that are very odd shaped lately. This thing was covered in what appears to be tiny blood spots, and it is hard almost like cartilage. It wouldn’t bother us, but we want to make sure nothing is wrong with her reproductive-wise because this happened along with her weird-shaped eggs. Any ideas on what it is? It is not anywhere the fertilized bullseye in the egg, so it’s not developing or anything.

No it's not the chalaza, but I can see why you would think that from the pictures. This thing has a definite form to it, not stringy at all, it's just a little hard lump... ? Thank you for trying to answer me though!!
