I've gotten a few today. Here's the latest:

"Dear (my name),
Play Ground Online For English - USA – VietNamese
Timtoi.Info have categorys funny .Eg:games, picture funny..."

What in the world? I have two accounts there and haven't checked the other. (ETA: Yeah, on the other e-mail, too. I hope the e-mail addresses were the only thing compromised. *sigh*)

I can only assume their e-mail got messed up or they have a virus or something? I've honestly never had luck contacting and getting a reply from egg bid so haven't even bothered trying, plus it's the same address that I'm getting the crud from so...

Yup, I just got that same email. Weird!! The link takes you to a (vietnamese?) game site or something like that. If I had time right now, I would contagt eggbid. I bet they got hacked.

Typical SPAM.

They can put whatever email address they want as the 'from' - it doesn't have to match the actual email account it was sent from.

SPAM programs/viruses often take email addresses to use as the 'from', as well as the "to' from blind internet searches for email addresses and links.

I have a business and get stuff all the time that has my OWN email as the 'from' and I know I didn't send myself that rather tasteless SPAM ad for viagra...

Maybe so...but kind of odd that members of eggbid are getting in...in other words, where would they get the e-mail addresses? One of mine in particular, I have ONLY used for eggbid. Never used it for anything else at all.

Here's the source/info for anyone smart enough to figure it out! hehe

Here's something to make this even stranger! First, I too got one of these emails, so I contacted the real EggBid people. In about 30 min, I received a second copy of the same original spam!!!

Yikes. That worries me. Glad I don't have any credit card information on file with them. At least, I don't think I do. EBay on the other hand, has EVERYTHING.
