Weird egg, I think it might be from my cayuga duck

Thank you! She isn't to impressed about being close to people but she is okay with me being near her if I'm not bothering her. Totoro hatched and raised two ducklings 4 years ago and my cayuga drake, Chiharu (he's 9 yo) is the dad we kept both ducklings but we lost one two years ago (her name was Maria). The other one is a drake (his name is Haru).
Totoro is a really good duck and I love her and all the others lots, I'm glad the "fairy" egg doesn't mean she has anything bad going on.

Fun fact's
"Chiharu" from what I looked up means "A thousand springs" in Japanese and "Haru" just means "spring". Maybe that's one reason why Chiharu is 9 yo? :p
Chiharu is one of my older sisters duck and she named him that when he was still a duckling. She's moved out of the house 4 years ago but so in way he's sort of mine now. Totoro is a name from a movie called my neighbor Totoro I don't know what it means though (I haven't looked it up).

Okay that was bit long, have a great rest of your day/night.
I love knowing the meaning behind names. My dog is named Taiyo, which is Sun in Japanese. I try to find names I can remember, though! With 30 ducks (and hopefully more on the way!) it can be difficult. A few of my own Cayuga remain nameless. Mainly because I can't tell them apart!!!

I'm going to have to start banding them.

The rest all have names:

Luna - white Magpie (she was blue as a duckling!), Simba - Cayuga drake, Starling - Magpie/Cayuga cross duck, Freckles - black pied Pekin cross drake, Cyrano - Welsh Harlequin drake, Ripley - white Pekin cross drake, Zoe - Cayuga cross duck, River - Rouen duck, Lennier - gray Runner? cross drake. Those are my mallard-derived ducks (plus the four unnamed Cayuga and Cayuga crosses)

My Muscovy are: Apollo, Sweetie, Cappuccino, Athena, Mist, Cloud, Dainty, Stewie, Ritz Quacker, Jewel, Mocha, Java, Latté, Cookie, Dulce, Strudel, and Pudding.

Some are themed, others just kind of named themselves. I'm also terrible at finding names, so a few of those are from other peoples' suggestions!

Oh, who all has watched or heard about spirit stallion of the cimmaron?
It's by far my most favorite movie that is about horses, I used to watch it quite often but now not as much, everytime I do watch it now though it makes me tear up, especially the beginning.
And the war horse is another one I really like.
I know that this very off topic in a way but I really wanted to know whose all heard of or watched the two movies.

Pretty sure I have Spirit around here somewhere. Haven't seen The War Horse though.

As a young teenager, I read all the Black Stallion books by Walter Farley, and was really ticked off at how they butchered it in the movie.

Spirit came out back when I was around 10 and still super into riding horses and everything. Saw it in theaters with another 4H friend and loved it. We would ride around playing like we were in the movie for months afterwards.

One of my nieces loves the newer Spirit show they have on Netflix. I like the older animation style a lot better though.

Yeah, the newer version of it I find to be pretty terrible I kind of like it but I also just don't. I also haven't watched enough of it to judge it fairly I guess.
But most my whole family agrees that original movie is way better then the riding free thing.
I find myself trying to act like lots of different animals a lot but in particular it's horses and ducks/chickens that I try imitating.
Oh and cats sort of.

Okay, so it's not just me!
I swear, I have so many animal personalities living inside me I'm surprised I haven't hunted myself down yet!

When I first saw the egg I thought it was a cayuga egg but really small, but then I thought and Im not so sure about it now that it was probably one if my guinea fowls first eggs but Im pretty sure they're not supposed to look like that. It has a lot of texture to its shell.View attachment 3230292
I've never seen an egg like this one before. I have a 8 basically 9 year old cayuga duck (her name's Totoro) shes been laying normal eggs as far as I know. I haven't seen any of hers recently because they break them most of the time before I let them out of the coop.
I am going to open it here in a bit (I'll get photos of it after I break it.
Yes! I only have Cayuga ducks and thats how most my eggs come out!
