Weird egg

Does anyone know why this egg looks like this and if it’s safe to eat ?

Generally a minor glitch in the reproductive tract. Sometimes a one time event - other times it may indicate impending problems. It should be safe to eat. Sometimes they contain egg spots.

Just crack it into a cup or bowl before you use it. That way if it has egg spots, you'll easily be able to toss it.

So are egg spots the “meat spots”? Do you eat them or just get rid of them?

They might be unappetizing in say, a deviled egg, but once you understand how they’re caused it seems clear they are no reason to waste the egg.

How old is the bird that laid it?

It’s almost 7 months old. It laid another egg that was kind of faded on parts . If it is a respitory issue, is that serious and would you be concerned ?
