Weird Injury? Swollen and bruised face

The scabbing came from the show too? Did she possible squish her fave between the bars? I didn't see any scabs when she was at the show, but they match her feathers and I wasn't looking very closely.

Are you sure that's scabbing? It looks like dried mucus. Try gently wiping it off with a wet warm cloth.

It’s the color of dried blood. I think you’re looking at the wrong spot. The green color is definitely the skin, not something stuck to it. The other circle is where the dried blood is (unfortunately very hard to see as it is the color of the feathers.)

It looks like trauma and scabbing from poking her head through or into wire, or from being pecked or bumped. It should heal eventually, but keep an eye on her for any bullying or pecking.

I saw that, was wondering what is was. Looks like a injury caused by a peck from another chicken. You said she was with an older pullet. By any chance do you think she could've pecked her? From what I can tell from the photo her wattles don't look swollen, just devolving or bruised?

Ok! She's with a smaller bird now so she shouldn't have to worry about it.

Yeah, and after that she was with a group of older birds. You're right, I guess the wattles are just bruised. Well, that's good.

Good news! The bruising is gone and her face is only slightly swollen. She still does have the scabs though.
