So I hatched this bird 1 month ago today. It had a T on the egg that looked maybe like a badly formed J and I had ordered an assortment of birds, Turken and Jersey Giants were possibilities. So this little weirdo has some sparsely feathered areas and I thought for sure it was a JG when it hatched but now I have no idea. Also do you all agree this is probably a rooster?

Here are some more shots. There's an EE in one that was hatched the same day as it. Pretty sure that one's a she

Well, not a naked neck (the actual name for turkens) unless the parents were bowtied, in which case they could have thrown offspring that didn't carry the NN gene.

And definitely a cockerel.

Alright this is what I thought too. A friend was gonna take any of the roosters I hatched but didn't want turkens because she said they look gross. Hahaha. Just making sure I didn't have to find him a different home!

This.

Naked necks are that way from hatch, so he's not going to suddenly go all nekkid on your friend and freak her out

Yes. My concern was that as he has gotten larger more of his neck has become visible and as adult feathering has come in large bald patches have become visible on his shoulders and face. Thank you.
