Weird mold looking spots on beak

So long story short I left my son and husband to tend to the ducks for the last month because I’ve been sick. Today I was feeling good and I went to check in them and I noticed my 3 Pekin hens have mold looking spots on their beaks 1 worse then the other 2. Is something wrong? Are the lacking a vitamin? Also my husband and son have said that the 3 pekin hens and my khaki hen have been going at it alittle could that be it? They are also about 6 months old and are laying eggs

It's simply melanin pigments caused by UV exposure and/or hormonal changes kind of like freckles. Nothing to do it's just something that happens usually more so in females than males.

i have 3 boys and he's the only one with any freckles. my girl got one freckle on the top of her beak a few years ago and it's still the only one she has lol

It’s normal! Our little lady didn’t have any until she was probably 2, now as she ages she gets more and more.
