Here's the strange one I got today, I put my finger in it really thin shell there

NO the yoke is inside the egg like a normal egg.
The membrane that normally has the calcium shell on it is what is covering these two joined eggs.

Now I don't feel so bad about the two soft shell eggs my newly laying hens dropped under the roost.

thats a doozey!!!!

I just got one like that from my Amerucana. She molted last fall and has only laid two large tic tacs since. They seem to have a very solid shell, but I haven't opened them. I might blow them out instead of cracking them.

I have another egg from Whitey, except this time its huge & SOFTSHELLED!!!, It was actually really hard to break the soft shell, & the yolk was huge & stood up like 1/2 an inch! She just dropped it out while sitting up on the roost, it bounced down in the straw!
