WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

Pics
We had a rescue bird about 18 months old begin to lay, normal healthy eggs, then randomly this one came, then nothing then back to normal eggs again!

Have seen a few similar in here so I am glad we are not the only ones to get ones like it.

Here's a 3" egg and a very odd shaped egg. It is always exciting to go out and see what is waiting for me quantity and what they look like. I love this chicken 'business'!

Oooh heres something I have to ask!

All my birds are brown egg layers, they have laid brown eggs from day one. Last week, we got 2 very light cream colored eggs, almost white! Whats up with that?! Are my birds sick or lacking in vitamins?
How old are your hens? I read somewhere that as hens age the color of shells will lighten and they will lay fewer eggs. But if your hens are young its obviously something else.

I understand that unusual eggs are common from new layers. however, once they're established layers, how often do these funky eggs occur? m a new chicken owner and to be truthful, looking at these freakish things is sort of turning my stomach. Do you always crack a fresh egg into a separate bowl in fear something funky will be inside? I'm afraid my husband, who is a picky eater will have a hard time eating fresh eggs if he ever sees something abnormal on or in an egg.
Does anyone else feel this way? Do you get over it?

you get over it. I've only had one egg in six years that I had to throw away because it creeped me out so bad! and I posted a pic of it in this thread. even "soft shells" or "Jelly eggs" are fine. although I usually cut the "shell" with scissors!
