One of my hens laid a very large egg a couple weeks ago. The diameter is about 5.75 inches at the widest part. Yikes!

This is the egg next to a regular large egg.


The yolks broke when I opened the first egg but you can still see both yolks.


The yolks were smaller in the second egg.

Love seeing all the huge eggs!

This was a monster egg one of our RIR recently laid. It is 4" tall. The XXL egg next to it is a Black Copper Marans egg.

Same hen, Maran cross, laid the normal one Thursday and the huge one Saturday. I guess Friday's yolk is inside Saturday's egg! She does this almost once a week.
