Weird Phone Calls

Got another one this morning.
guy asking me if I wanted info on a tech college or a degree college.

What?

said he was calling me because I entered my info into their site on the computor.

Told him someone else was doing it and to not call me again.

Yup, somebody is pranking you or using your identity.

Would it be reasonable to change your phone number?

What is this Do Not Mail list of which you speak... PLEASE tell me more?!?!

Our first call in this house, new number had been turned on for all of an hour was a collector looking for my BIL... now explain that one if you will. Get calls for our landlord, I can sorta trace that one... this address, match the number... okay... but BIL, that soon... lost me. Then there's the calls for my maiden name... haven't used that in over 12 years so I'm boggled as to what the devil they might want, don't bother answering. Then there's the calls looking for Remax... and Mountasia... it gets old but unless they quit showing our number as theirs it ain't gonna stop...

And then there's the mail... anyone know a Steven Vera? Cuz we don't.... bad enough dealing with the calls and mail that are actually for us, dealing with other people's stuff is beyond annoying and just wasteful...

What I hate are the wrong numbers where the person is convinced they have the right number. And, nothing you can say will convince them that the person is not there. Or, if they do believe you, then they ask if you have the person's phone number!

I had one several years ago. (This was b4 the days of caller id) They kept calling and asking for Jim. And, I kept telling them that there was no one w/the name Jim here. I finally lost it when they had already called a time or 2 earlier, then called late at night, and woke me up! I started to yell at them, asked them how many times I needed to tell them that no one by the name of Jim lived here. I may have even called them stupid. (I'm not nice when I get woke up like that.) They hung up very quickly, and never called again.

Depend's on basicly what you do online.Myself Im a sweepstakes junkie and enter EVERYTHING.I usualy dont read the rule's to everything and just click submit entry.I get TELE.call's but not many but still get them.Data bank's for a lot of Co's are not or ever updated.I had debt collector's calling our new phone for 2 years when we got our number here.Thats why We have caller ID and dont answer 800, unknown numbers.

I recently called a poultry processor, and asked for jeremiah, the man said "sorry, you've got the wrong number" and I said 'my friend gave me this number are you sure there's no Jeremiah?" He said "Yes" and hung up. Took me a few days to get back to my friend to double check the number, and it was the SAME number.... so I called back, and MADE him stay on the phone. turns out his name is JEREMY, not jeremiah... um, Really? semantics!

I rarely enter things online such as contests.
Rechecked my credit report, nothing.
I know there is a couple women out there with the same name. I've gotten their bills from the hospital. Sent them back and called the hospital. It was corrected.

Had a weird one on my cell phone. Started getting texts from someone. I was getting about 6 a day. After waiting about a week hoping they would catch the hint, wrong number, I finally texted them that they had the wrong number. Got a really nasty text back calling me all sorts of names.
Sent them a final one back telling them where to stick their phone. They sent one more but I deleted it like I had done the others.
