My 4 year old wyandotte hen is acting totally normal, eating and drinking normal, running out of the coop each morning. The only thing wrong is her poop is weird. Semi-clear liquid with some solids mixed in.
Every once in awhile she'll drop a semi normal one.
I just dewormed her with valbazen and gave her a bath with epsom salt.
The diarrhea has been going on for about a week.
I read that symptoms of kidney failure are often sudden onset, and a seemingly healthy, chicken can succumb quickly. So I guess that worried me.
I may be wrong. The birds recently started free ranging again, and I suspect she might have started laying again.
So those changes might have stressed her out.
I have some tylan 200 injectable and some sulfadimethoxine (sulfamed 40) laying around and I can administer some if necessary.
Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Can you take another photo on a plain background? It is hard to assess against a multi coloured one.

You finished course of deworming with the Valbazen (2 doses) or just an initial dose?

She's acting normal....

When's the last time she laid an egg? Is her crop emptying overnight?

I believe she laid an egg today, i'll find out for sure tomorrow and her crop is emptying yes.
I gave her just the initial dose.
The second dose in 10 days? Please correct me if im wrong.
I also felt around in her abdomen, and she felt normal, no stuck eggs.
Hoping this is just stress related.
Thanks for the response :)

Yes, you are correct, second dose in 10 days.

Changes in habits and what they eat can affect the poop, so give her a few days and see what it looks like. You report she's active, eating/drinking which is a good thing.
Keep me posted.

hello,
nothings changed. She's still eating and drinking and is constantly active. I gave her the second dose of valbazen, it didn't change anything.
She's not laying, I'm not sure if she recently stopped or if she never started again after winter. She is getting older so its expected her laying would slow down.
There really seems to be nothing wrong with her besides the poop.
Its changed consistency and its not as mucus-y anymore, but its definitely wet.
Maybe it is what it is? I'm not sure what else I can do.
Thanks for the help anyway 👍
