I use a small dog sized harness for my silkies. For the bigger roosters, I have a medium sized dog harness, you just have to put it on like it would a dog. I can tell you this though... they will pick at it and don't like to wear it.

If you just want to transport them, a box or dog carrier will do. You could train one to not care about a leash, since they can be trained to do things. But, let's face it, the whole idea is sorta odd; much ado over nothing.
It's right up there with chicken diapers.

Hello! Chicken diapers make perfect sense when they are perching at the head of your bed!

Just this evening I took one of my hens to a picnic at a friend's house. I picked up a small dog harness, (not the figure 8 type) and leash at Pet Co.

She didn't like the harness much, but got used to it and she sure liked all the treats she got!

It's a good idea to have with a nice crate where she can get away from the noise though.

I got the parrot harness for one of my old english bantam hens....I bought it before I actually had the old english bantam hen. After the first time I tried to put it on her, I realized how crazy the idea was. She was not going to have that happen...

All I can say is good luck. The parrot harness is the right size for a bantam, but not necessarily something they will deal with. If I have to take her anywhere I put her in the little Sherpa carrier that my cat outgrew. It's fabric and soft, and I just put straw in the bottom. She loves it. She can stay in there for hours and not get frustrated.
