Weirdest Things Your Chickens Have Done

I used to……… would not recommend.
The large fowl ones tend to be dominant and aggressive. However, I hear nothing about the bantam version other than them being the sweetest things ever. Which I have to agree, because I have Ruby (a Rhode Island Red Bantam hen) and I love her.

My rooster doesn’t do this anymore, but when I first introduced him to the flock, he always did this silly little dance before he tried to mate the hens. He hardly ever got one then, because he spent so much time running in circles and flapping his wings.
Pretty much all roosters do that. Its how they tell the hens they want to mate

I had a mixed breed hen 5 or so years ago that would pretend to be injured, limping and making sounds like she was hurt, so that we would open the door between the yards and let her into the one with the lettuce. I did not know they could fake injuries, but there you go. The limping and moaning would stop immediately after we let her through... which we did, despite the damage to the lettuce, because she was just so cute doing it. I bet she felt great outsmarting us.

I have a Faverolles hen who likes to come inside to dustbathe on the living-room floor tiles. I wonder if she's criticizing my cleaning... It's certainly dustier when she leaves 🤷🏽‍♀️
