Welcome to Club Yoke! (new pics page 7)

Hmmm. I will have to try that. I have tried warm water and it doesnt really help. I was told to raise the temperature of the brooder but that made the poor chicks miserable... they didnt LIKE it that hot. Any other ideas?

The sides of our current brooder are 1 inch hexagon chicken wire and they can't get out. They can get their heads through it, but they're pretty well confined.

Amy, when the chicks are just barely over 2 weeks old you will be amazed at how big they are....mine are about 1/2 way feathered out and about triple the size they were when they were 5 days old....they grow soooo fast

try the Apple Cider Vinegar for pasty butt...just add 1-2 tbsp in a gallon of water.....mine only had pasty butt for 2 days. Just be sure to get Organic ACV with the mother

Ok I can do the apple cider viniger easily. My chicks are getting over it now but I still have a couple who have it on and off.

but what do you mean by this? "Just be sure to get Organic ACV with the mother"

Derpetto is my favorite - you go girl (?)

lol I think Derpetto questions that one h/himself. The Derp-ster has discovered the joy of staring at the heat lamp. Twice today I caught her starring at the lamp in fascination. I guess she didn't get the lecture about not starring at the sun... What ever Derpetto is... male, female, silver, blue... ext... Derpetto is... well.. Derpy. I think she MUST be a relative of Dereperillo (sp?) here on BYC.

Derpetto is most likely a silver - if she were a blue (WCB), she would have a white poof on the top of her head. Since her crest is the same color, I'm betting SL. She's pretty, if you really don't like her you can send her to me. :)

Love your barn,

I'm very envious.

Yes I was also thinking little Derpetto was a silver... that's what I ordered anyway. But she sure doesn't look like the ones pictured on the site... see:

Derpetto:

and the chicks on the MMH site: (mid page there)

Is their picture not accurate or is her color off? Cause she doesn't look like the picture at all. LIL

I will DEFIANTLY be taking more pictures as they grow. I LOVE to take pictures of the little Chickie's.
