We always had a Charlie Brown tree when I was a kid; Dad refused (or couldn't afford) to buy a decent tree; sometimes waited 'til Christmas Eve so he could get a leftover cheap. The first Christmas I had a full-time job, I went out & bought the prettiest, fullest, long-needle pine you ever saw; paid an exorbitant $25 for it....in '64. Dad thought I was nuts!

Haha!! Yeah - pretty sure dh just really doesn't want to drive up to the mountains to get one. The permit is a whopping $10 and I really like getting out and tromping through the woods. So - once he gets out there, he will be fine. It's just the planning that he doesn't love.

Finally, we are going to go get a Christmas tree! Long story short - dh got a free one and brought it home.. it looked like a shrub. I sent it outside. We are going to get a different one.

I'm pretty sure the drivers around here are hitting the panic button about now. They'll empty the grocery shelves of milk & toilet paper, buy expensive generators, and buy all snow shovels in sight. It's actually hilarious! They get in their yuppie vehicles & head for the nearest ditch, to make sure they get a good spot. You'd swear they'd never seen snow before; have not the foggiest clue of how to drive in it. They're either crawling along at the rate of 2 miles/every 3 weeks, or trying to beat the land speed record.
