Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Had to bail on the show today :( Roads were just too bad after the storm last night; couldn't drive three hours on that, and it likely would have been even longer because of having to slow down due to the road conditions. The show is open tomorrow, and the roads will probably be better, but they're only open for two hours in the morning, and I don't really want to leave here at five in the morning to try to make it down there to have one hour to spend at the show. So I think it's a bust this year.

At least I've had some good progress with the ko shamos this morning. I've been letting them out together for a few minutes each day to see what they do, and before today the cockerel was always being really sweet to the pullet, trying to show her food, dancing for her, and she would respond to this by biting him the face and starting a fight.

Today he decided, you know what, to heck with being nice, and he charged her down, grabbed her head, and mated with her before she could do anything about it. After that she didn't seem to want to challenge him, but I still had to split them up because he wouldn't stop dancing at her and trying to get her to mate again and she did not want to and kept trying to run away.

Baby steps here.

Sorry your having to miss the show.:hugs

I hope those two start getting along better for you soon! :fl

I had taken Honey outside for those couple warm days, but worried too much about last night so I brought her back inside. Tried bringing a different boy in with her, they did not get along, so i took him back outside. I have one majorly spoiled chicken.
