Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I need to padlock the pantry whenever I do something dumb and hurt myself because I always wind up gaining weight during the recovery period.

Not cupcakes, CHOCOLATE!

I think it was the two cement blocks I moved out of the chicken coop on Sunday...
Dislike!! :hugs

Pretty sad when you have to wear snowshoes in the back yard on 18 April...... Snow is as deep as the dang to of the picnic table.
Had to shovel down to open the smoker door.View attachment 1345092
No no no!!! No more snow!!!:(

Fabulous news about your broody! Glad the transition went well. Yeah, you kind of have to do what feels right for your particular setting as far as adding chicks goes. I'm leaning toward letting Iris be an only child. Like Rav said, she's not alone. She'll also be introduced to your flock at a super young age, so she'll have all of them too. Although if you do add more, I am in no position to throw any stones. :)

I don't think I'm gonna add any babies. At first I wanted to & if Poppy hadn't seemed on deaths door, I might have (especially since the feed store has Langshans & I'm a sucker for black iridescence. :drool) Ultimately tho, after watching them these past two days in the brooder I've decided not to. Their bond is INCREDIBLE & throwing a couple strangers in the mix feels unnatural. If she hadn't hatched any, or if they hadn't bonded, or whatever I would have, but in this exact scenario its a no. If things change I'll reconsider, but it doesn't look like it.

They say broodiness is contagious & Mako (rhymes with taco) has been in her nest the past two days ripping out all of her feathers. :he

Hi Back from sleep study at six am.;/.. came away with a full face mask.. worked better for me.

Bipap too was so much better. I slept all night and didnt have to get up to Pee. Great dreams too. Cant wait for the analysis and to get my machine.

Oh and they gave me the mask that I slept in.

Today is busy. First psychologist in one town then Radiation in another town. Wont be free till after I am done with that.

OH and Today must be a nexus or something. Kid has a Job interview for the Midway Nautical museaum... He is so excited.
A paid spot to work with history... and the ability to meet and greet just about everyone that comes on board.

Hes very familiar with this kind of position having worked as a Volunteer at The Birch Aquarium for the past five years.

Ok off to make grandmas breakfast... then a shower to wash the electrode goo out of my hair.

That sounds like a busy, but great day! Congrats on finally getting the mask! :thumbsup
I hope he gets the job! I bet we've seen him at the aquarium & didn't know it.

:drool major :drool :ya Hope you get a great hatch!
I'm going to give a few of the jubilees to my broody tonight.
Hey @kwhites634 , every single BCM hen I have is or just was broody; completely illiterate group of breed specification readers. That, or Sour's incantation bounced through Rav and WV and ended on me.

Great color variety. What do the frosted ones turn into?

"Frosted" ones are blues. Blue fawn, blue dusky...

12 Jubilee/Blue Jubilee eggs
6 Lemon/Columbian eggs
16 assorted silkie, frizzle, sizzle, d'uccle eggs.
Wow.

One of these days, I will get my d'uccle :barnie

A precious sight, for sure, a broody and her baby(ies)

And most absolutely contagious as anything on the planet!

I just bought a pet carrier at the local Salvation Army to put this last broody in. Their poor rooster is all alone now. I'm thinking of giving him a different batch of girls...
