Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Ahhh... Posting without a comment. So its gonna be one of THOSE days. :th:lau
Love the new avy WV. Sorry about the one ling. but the others are sooooo cute!!!:loveWhats your boat ramp made out of?

Thanks! Avy is a pretty little cochin I hatched this weekend.

The ramp out of the boat is some kind of steel grating my hubby found, I think it came from a dismantled fire escape! Lol Everything else we tried floated. It's wrapped in super heavy plastic octagon netting for better footing. I just added the little rubber mat at the top across the edge for the ducklings, since the grate sits about 3-4" below the top.

The funniest thing is when they fall off the side, straight into the water, a good foot below! Water level is down because I drained it before the last rain, then it didn't rain long enough to refill it. Of course!

Did y'all know that ducks don't get stressed ? I just learned that today. Never too late to learn. :old

Tsk, tsk. :p

My 4 drakes seem ok about sharing their pond with a beautiful pair of wild wood ducks. I set up a nest box last year, I think she is using it this year. :yesss:
(yes my pond is horribly muddy!)

Hey, humans would pay good money to soak in there. :thumbsup

That is what you do when your husband sold your good tiller when you left TN. I dig up the clay, add sand and manure and mix it all up and put it back in the hole. Plants do much better. Put cranberry beans in the raised bed garden.
Sounds like a whole lot of work and a royal pain in the backside. I take it you either have no row crops or an extremely short garden.
