Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Well it's the only explanation I have brother.... Windy too. Staying above freezing at night View attachment 1352394
Here it is today...... Can see the seats now.
I'll tell you what AL ..... About 10 years back he had as much snow as we did a few days ago and on 15 April the temps got over, 90 and it all melted in two days..... Flooded everything
Washed out the main bridge into Marquette.
The amazing thing was.... They had a new bridge in by the 4th of July..... It's funny how fast they can get something done when it needs to be done.
Break out the hot dogs, chips, brats, & potato salad

I don't claim to be an artist by any stretch..... But I picked up a pencil yesterday for the first time in 30 years and started doodling for a few minutes....... It was relaxing..... Kinda wish I'd have kept doing it.
But raising a family took up my time..... And other interest.
Anyhow maybe I'll try and do some more just for giggles

Phil, you're good.

Good morning, Pond.

I plant mostly in raised beds. But this garden i am using to plant along the fence. I dug up about 20 feet by 3 feet in 2 days. Today my quads are spasming! So took a muscle relaxer and drinking lots of fluids. Yeah, its a pain. But so full of roots and clay a tiller prob. Wouldn't work anyway.
I grew up with the clay in MD. For a couple years we tilled up the whole yard after we'd spread rotted oak leafs all over it. Then, of course, we had to reseed it. After a couple years of that, and liming, we had a really nice lawn.

When we'd moved into that house in 1953, it had a wooden porch across the front that had been there since 1929, and had seen far better days, so Dad decided to tear it down and put a brick/concrete porch in it's place. 18" deep footers are a chore in hard-pan clay, but we (mostly me) got 'er done, with a lot of sweat & a David Bradley tiller. Pulled the two outside tines and went to work. Finally blew the engine, but that tiller sure earned it's keep that Summer!

I'm impressed! Next time, maybe try a guy in a boat fighting a big Walleye.

Thanks! Avy is a pretty little cochin I hatched this weekend.

The ramp out of the boat is some kind of steel grating my hubby found, I think it came from a dismantled fire escape! Lol Everything else we tried floated. It's wrapped in super heavy plastic octagon netting for better footing. I just added the little rubber mat at the top across the edge for the ducklings, since the grate sits about 3-4" below the top.

The funniest thing is when they fall off the side, straight into the water, a good foot below! Water level is down because I drained it before the last rain, then it didn't rain long enough to refill it. Of course!

Tsk, tsk. :p
I love your duck boat! Too cool!:love

My 4 drakes seem ok about sharing their pond with a beautiful pair of wild wood ducks. I set up a nest box last year, I think she is using it this year. :yesss:
(yes my pond is horribly muddy!)

I hope she sets a clutch and hatches for ya. That would be awesome! :love
And nothing wrong with a muddy pond. Like room said, people would pay to swim there...:D
We hit the mid 60's for last couple of days.
Nice! Much warmer!:celebrate

About 30 years back give or take.... I had just lost my job driving truck and dove into a deep depression.....I didn't have anything to give my brother for Christmas so I drew two pictures.... One was off a walleye....I did that picture in just little dots..... One for at a time till the doors became a picture..... It's was real good too me days to do..... Then I did one of a Northern Pike laying under some logs and Lilly pads...... And there was a mouse.
That picture almost looks like a black and white photo......I could not afford switch paper so I did it in notebook paper..... But my brother still has those pics on his wall.....
