Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Wow you caught the expression and the waggle...... :bow
Yeah it's not easy trying to make a duck actually look happy with a pencil......I gave up on this one and started over but couldn't get the expression right so now I'm gonna go back and finish this one ..... Then I think I'll try and sketch SEVEN next ..... My daughter bought me all these areart supplies last year for my birthday...... told me I need to quit working so hard and draw instead.
I used to oil paint too..... Way back in the day

Looks like a happy duck to me..:D
See ya later ..:frow

I hope she sets a clutch and hatches for ya. That would be awesome! :love
And nothing wrong with a muddy pond. Like room said, people would pay to swim there...:D

The wood duck pair hung around last year, but I never saw her with any babies. We built a box for her and hung it on a tree pretty close to the pond. I'd love to see them use our dirty pond. :D
Actually, the pic is a bit deceiving. Its not nearly as muddy as it looks. Its just the red clay, even a little of it colors the water quickly. And with ducks stirring it up, well.....

The power was off for a couple of hours last night but dh had fixed his inverter so I was able to keep the bators going. And have an internal pip in one goose egg!

PIP!!! :wee

We have a lot of red clay here too. So I know exactly how that goes..:sick

I hear chirping in the bator from a gosling! :wee

I remember when I first started gardening....I used to hand till.....a lot of work.
I used to his bags of manure home from the farm I was working at in the trunk of my car.
But did I have one heck of a garden. Strong plants.... The old timers from the neighborhood would stop by and check it out.....
We built a hoop greenhouse a few years ago and DH took some manure/soil out of the old cow yard. The plants in there are beautiful!
:barnie this rain needs to stop! :hit
Rain, rain, go away....

Well it's the only explanation I have brother.... Windy too. Staying above freezing at night View attachment 1352394
Here it is today...... Can see the seats now.
I'll tell you what AL ..... About 10 years back he had as much snow as we did a few days ago and on 15 April the temps got over, 90 and it all melted in two days..... Flooded everything
Washed out the main bridge into Marquette.
The amazing thing was.... They had a new bridge in by the 4th of July..... It's funny how fast they can get something done when it needs to be done.
my pond is still frozen most mornings. But these boiling temps of 45 at midday are getting the snow melted.

Those are some fine looking ducks Dan!:love
