Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good morning!
One if our local chicken people just found out she has infectious bronchitis in her flock. I'm no help in that arena (yet :hmm) - anyone here have experience with it?

Infectious bronchitis is a chronic respiratory disease. It's a virus, so the symptoms just have to be ridden out. They carry it for up to a year once they have it and will pass it to any other chickens they come into contact with.

Additionally, it will infect the reproductive tract along with the respiratory tract. This can lead to odd, misshapen eggs and a decrease in egg production for the rest of the infected birds' lives.

Only thing to do is to either cull them all, or wait out the year without introducing new birds, keeping the flock closed during that time.

Little bugger...:lau they can be so funny.:love
Your situation is just as big and important as anyone elses, including mine. Shes your baby and that's all that matters. It makes it important.
:hugs:hugs:hugs
Awwww, thank you. She really does have a personality three times bigger than she is. I've always believed in loving and letting my animals be what God created them to be and not try to turn them into "funny looking humans" but no matter how hard I try she just absolutely refuses to "just be a dog". :idunno

I get that... I have way to many, but they all have their own personalities and each contribute in their own way to our family. And they are all spoiled rotten and know it...:lau
I don't see ours as "Just dogs" either..:love

Well, my spoiled little patient is still so soundly sleeping, using my ankle as a pillow, that's she's snoring and the weatherman lied, again, and wind is still feeling like the blows that come down from Lake Superior in November so I guess I'll just grab another cuppa and see if I can waste some money on Craig's List.
