I'm having a cow. Baby Iris turned 4wks today & Poppy is pretty much done with her (on mothers day no less.) She left baby screaming & flew up into the rafters where she used to roost with the other CL's. Iris was calling her like crazy & climbing on everything trying to get near the rafters. I watched from a distance as she kept jumping off stuff, aiming for the rafters, but just kept splatting on the ground. I finally went out there & snuggled baby out of Poppys sight hoping she would come down to get her. Nope. Then I tried to get baby snuggled into her usual nesting box with some extra grass. No go. I tried to snuggle her into a different nesting box with the juveniles. That didn't work either. Iris was really freaking out at that point & got up as high as she could go on the quail cage. I went to stand next to her & she jumped on me to get a little higher, then on up & onto the rafters. I let her do it. I figured she'd kill herself trying to get up there. Now I fear she'll kill herself falling or jumping down. I've snuck out 3x tonight to listen at the door & I don't hear anything. :he:barnie

Iris will adjust. It isn’t harder with a single chick when Mom decides she’s done.

Well, back to the regular schedule. Mom seems like she's doing better, but they'll boot her out of the hospital before she can really walk on her own. (She's a tiny, frail thing in the first place.) And she will not (use your first and pound the table when you say that) go to a rehab place. So, she'll have to pay for some help at home (she also has a tendency to fall... Ugh) for a while.
There's other stuff but I won't bore the pond. ANyway... My house looks like a bomb went off, so I should get cracking on the debris field.
Glad Mom is doing better.

I apparently have the same decorator you do.
Sorry you're sick! What do mean somebody didn't treat your kids right??? What did these @holes do to your kids? Do they know you have a pack of mama bears at your finger tips who love your kids? Do they know we have pitchforks & duck tape & are willing to travel???

Me + them = LOTS of Acme bandages.

Exactly! I even know where Homer is. I've been there. I'll go again!
