We had spring for maybe 2 weeks. Not ready for summer. Gotta go lock up coops and runs.

Everyone's got a calling in life, huh? I want to ask how you found out he was a great mom?!?!
I've got a rooster spending a lot of time in the nesting boxes... Wonder if he'd be a great mom, too?!?!
I had no idea! I just kinda thought he might be gentle with little ones. I figured if he was mean, he was the one leaving anyway.
He went in the upper coop at dark, they didn't follow him, but when I put them up there with him, I think I saw a few actually cuddle under him.
I had another cochin rooster that spent alot of time with the girls in the nest boxes. I finally figured out he was hiding from the main rooster. So i moved him and a couple of the girls.
That's friggin awesome!!

I am pleasantly surprised! A new adventure for me.
Of those 7 chicks, I'm sure at least 3, maybe 4, are boys. So he can teach them boy chicken stuff.
