Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

This rooster has been in rooster-jail for a couple of weeks. All alone, because he can't be trusted to no fight thru the fence with any other rooster. I don't need him in my breeding stock because of his hackle leakage.
Anyway, I discovered he is an excellent MOM! :gig

:lau That. Is. Awesome!!
Everyone's got a calling in life, huh? I want to ask how you found out he was a great mom?!?!
I've got a rooster spending a lot of time in the nesting boxes... Wonder if he'd be a great mom, too?!?!

I was wondering the same thing.. i have 2 that like to stay close to the nest boxes...idk.
Mine is starting to get really annoying. I would love for him to go out and actually look after his flock. No, he's sitting in the nest box alternately preening himself and making the "egg call". The girls are hollering at him because they actually have a reason to use it, and, of course, he's hogging the favorite one. :idunno
