The back story is that the owner was really old & in bad health. Somebody brought his ducks to HS & dropped them off. Apparently the hens got adopted but the drake was left at the HS & is super lonely. Its only been a few days for him there, so probably not enough time for them to notice if he was sick or not.

Poor guy I'm surprised they would let people take just the hens and split them up like that.

Yeah, I dont know why. They have a mated pair of Muscovy there in a separate cage that they say are bonded & to be adopted together.

Just got pics of the drake. This is no Cayuga … He's a runner. I like Runners, they're beautiful, but geeze… Hello people!

The bunny kits opened their eyes today Few more days and I'll pull the nesting box.

yes... but.... I worry. The juice will get on the sleeves and gloves... and then you need to figure out how to remove and wash the sleeves and gloves without getting any on you.

And if ANY gets on your skin it then gets right into the cells themselves and makes them photo sensitive. So, ANY light exposure, even a month later and 3rd degree blisters pop up. I still remember the summer... the ENTIRE summer ... that kid 3 had to dress in long sleeves, gloves and a ski mask everytime he went outside. Every. Time. He. Went. Outside! All. Summer. Long! I still shudder at the thought.

Ok. Serious business here. I found a 1yr old lonely Cayuga drake abandoned at the humane society (freaking Pyxis!)

Question: Do I need to quarantine him 30days like a chicken???

The feed store has baby 'lings. I'd love to have babies, but feel I should stick with my policy of saving something. I know those babies will be bought. I'm not sure a 1yr old drake will be.

Yup.... I'm a pet duck..... And I do what all drakes do.... All over your yard.... In front of friends.... And strangers......I don't have hands what do you want me to do?...... So as long as all I have is wings I'm gonna keep doing it all over your yard.....
Yup give me hands and I can build a house instead of this crummy nest........ And a boat.... Heck yes a house boat.... So I could go to the lake and not get wet at all..... Heck yeah..... Besides if I had hands I wouldn't need those hens anyways........
