Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Is that a good thing Sour? Helicopters are always buzzing my house, I wouldnt want them landing.

Princess is much braver than I am. I once climbed a short step ladder to spray wasp killer on a nest. My son kept telling me not too. But, I know wasps and the nest was very small - Weren't many to attack. Plus the spray kinda freezes them. Besides I've half nuts.

What kind are they again? Those are super cute chick s!!

Black Copper Marans. The last few eggs my girls laid before I got rid of the flock.

Not a bad idea, deedee, but it would be rough mowing around all of the crap I put out on the lawn. Neighbor said the front lawn looks like a landing strip.

:p I wish you did pics!
I may be inspired to decorate again this year. I think I skipped it last year. Today would actually have been a good day to work on it. Oh well.

I agree - I'd love to see pics, Sour!

I got started decorating inside today. We don't do outside because 1. DH doesn't get into Christmas decorating and I don't want to do it all myself, and 2. We live far enough off the road, no one would see it anyway.

Since the family is coming here for Christmas, I'm getting a real tree this year. I grew up with real trees, but have used artificial ones recently. I don't like them. I still like my real trees. After Christmas, I'll put it out on the deck with treats for the birds in it. It'll stay there until way too late in the spring when I finally get rid of it.

On Frozen Pond.

4 pips in the incubator, no more chicks under Sara, but they may take a few days. I think I must have missed an older one when I removed some clears, so if she doesn’t stick to the newer eggs, I have plenty of broodies to move them to.
I think your girls are just permanently broody...:gig

Why does jerky have to take so long. The aroma is torture!

I got the new permanent roof on the emu barn yesterday, woo! Just in time before we start really getting snow. I got slowed down on that after those darn trees fell on it and broke the temp roof. But it's up, and it's really nice in there. Lets in plenty of light, and I propped a piece of plywood up over the opening in such a way that the birds can still walk around and get in there, but it'll keep any snow from blowing in the door.
:woot
Now to make sure the emus will walk around the plywood to go in. Well, their food is in there. And also they go through the darn tiny pop door on the chicken coop, so they better be willing to walk around a piece of plywood, lol.
:lau:gig:gig
I hope they cooperate! :fl
I’d love to see exactly how the emus manage that, with their long legs. They belly crawl? Lol

It is crazy! I haven't seen him actually do it yet, but Desi does it all the time. I'll turn around and he'll be in there, and then a while later he's back out. The only way it could possibly work is that he must be getting down on his knees and army-crawling in.
Omg.. you have to try and video that! :gig:lau :fl
:celebrate
Must be a male. Loud! :gig
:gig:lau
Well, it has a zipper. :idunno

Went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Once we got home the Princess got out the whip and put me to work. We 'killed' autumn/Halloween and emptied the multitude of planters I had going all summer. I then started on Christmas decorations. Put lights on the house and hung a lighted wreath on the chimney. Princess 'had' to come up on the roof and help. She was very uncomfortable there, and I was worried about her. She said, "But you make it look so easy." Exactly why does she think I b*tch every time I have to go up there ? The wreath is new, and it really looks nice. Sad that perhaps 3.5 hours of moderate work can tire me out so. Mom was right when she said, "Gettin' old ain't for sissies."
:bow:bow:bow you and Princess!!
I can barely manage a step stool without getting dizzy..

:wee :love:love
Awwwwwwe! Such a cute avy Diva! Is that you?
