They all do..... Even my Ayams Cemanis will venture out for a while.Do any of your fowl go out in those conditions?
Really not sure why .... But I don't have serious issues with Frost bite here either. They all do..... Even my Ayams Cemanis will venture out for a while.
I usually won't let them out till it's in the above zero range though.
I was thinking the same thing.... It's so cold the air is dry....I keep them in a well ventilated but draft free coop too....I made a contact in Finland through searching for people who keep free range fowl in multi coop arrangements and he doesn't have frostbite problems. He says it's about keeping them dry.
Those Buddy heaters are sure nice, huh? Best money I ever spent for comfort. Like I told you before, mine's running off a 20# bottle that seems to be lasting forever. Been on low for 3-4 days straight now & still going strong. I even forgot to turn it off one evening & it was on all night. Keeps my blind real toasty, to the point that I usually take my jacket off. Of course the blind being double-walled & well insulated doesn't hurt.Brrrrr.... Cold out here. Got the heat on high though so should warm up quick
