I'll be just popping in for coffee breaks this weekend. I convinced DH that building a small simple Catio was a good idea & we're starting today. Of course 'starting' has nothing to do with the actual building process. It means emptying an old paint shed, tearing down the old paint shed & a trip to the dump (I'm praying that rats/mice/snakes & earwings don't come charging out from under that thing.)

I started a Catio for my room mate Aeons ago.... Till her snootyness pissed me off. The whole "My cats have NEVER touched the ground..." comment I built a platform for them and said... Phuck it....

But I would have loved to do a deck surround ing the house and screen it in in portions... so Cats and dogs could enjoy the night without danger from wild things.

But then I have the patio room. its a mess but it works...

By the Way I love the term Catio.... Have you seen that house here in San Diego that has intragal cat structures through out the house.... I love it ... I couldnt do it myself but I love the whole idea.

Yay... I feed my birds once a week... am working on feeders that I can fill from an aisle. I also water with automatic water tubs. two gallons of water are available in each pen at all times. Served by low pressure hose. takes a bucket about fifteen minutes to fill if it gets dumped over. The idea is to have a Big container of a hundred gallons to feed the waterers. then a regular stock tank filler for the big tank served from the house. of course ducks will need a special setup... but it could be done.

I tend to make things too complicated.

Dang my birds must be spoiled....I feed them sometimes the times a day..... But I give them lots of greens and other stuff..... They barely eat regular feed.
In the summer they never eat anything cuz they are constantly gleaning the yard....
But yeah I go the the grocery store daily to buy reduced produce for them.... Today they got cukes.... Bananas and heads of lettuce.
I have such a small flock though it's easy to spoil them.

yea you Get it! Seriously we took them out for one overnight visit so far and i packed the whole bed of the truck w junk we needed 3/4s of the junk tho! my goal is to go on our first family vacation next tax season. Theyll all be out of diapers God willing we will be moved into the permanent home, everyone old enough to really enjoy it... ill get up that way one day tho!

I hope you do.... I've been married 37 years and have yet gone on a family vacation.
