Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

A long time friend of mine passed a few days ago....I have been trying to find out from what. But I didn't want to text her husband to find out (obviously).... Kept hearing it was an infection then I heard it was a heart attack..... Finally got the scoop today.... She was apparently in the hospital for an infection and died of a heart attack in her sleep..... She was my Snap On Dealer..... Still owe her about $4000.... But I've known her since 1992.... She was just a young woman then... She worked as a parts runner at the dealership I worked for..... Sad to see how someone's life turns out... Just talked with her a few days back too.

I'd sleep in the mud if I could come visit... Sigh...

You know Room We are nanoseconds apart comparatively.... We should do our own mini meetup ....

:yaThat would be so much fun!!!! :wee

I started a Catio for my room mate Aeons ago.... Till her snootyness pissed me off. :hmm The whole "My cats have NEVER touched the ground..." comment I built a platform for them and said... Phuck it....

But I would have loved to do a deck surround ing the house and screen it in in portions... so Cats and dogs could enjoy the night without danger from wild things.

But then I have the patio room. its a mess but it works...

By the Way I love the term Catio.... Have you seen that house here in San Diego that has intragal cat structures through out the house.... I love it ... I couldnt do it myself but I love the whole idea.

I've seen some amazing ones the last few days that have above ground tunnels around fence lines & thru the yard & are built around trees. You know north county is pretty hilly & the only flat part of my yard is the drive way. I also don't have the space or the money to do a really cool one, but I didn't show the cat any of the cool videos, so he'll never know what he's missing. :lau

I thought when I brought these guy home last year that I'd have to build cat runs up by the ceiling, but luckily everybody got along right off & I didn't have to.

I'm sorry Phil! :(That blows!!! :hugs:hugs:hugs

Yeah....
She was only 59.
I used to think that was old. Known both her and her husband when they were both married to different people. I don't pay on my bill till sometime next month by then I would think he would have to doing the business again even if it means he had to get a substitute. The truck has to run.... It's a major franchise. They actually have people that work as subs at least they used to. John I don't think can drive.... He has bad glacoma.
But it's how he makes a living so he might have to hire someone. Dang life can really really suck sometimes. And you can never see it coming. Then you start to ask the question....

Good morning Pond Peeps :frow
I have some good news..:D
Had a family chat yesterday about my issues with keeping my birds and while I am going to drastically reduce the numbers I have, Im still gonna have some birds! :celebrate
We're going to get some large hanging feeders so feeding doesn't have to be done daily, just check them and gather any eggs and Brandon said he'll take care of the water.. just during winte, I can manage the rest of the year myself.. Hopefully it'll work out better next winter, if not we'll reevaluate... but for now, its all ok! :wee

That is excellent news!

Getting ready to head out on the Lake.... Ice fishing this time of year is always fun.
The smelly are in close to shore to spawn soon as ice melts.
All the big predator fish like salmon and trout follow them in.... They go on feeding frenzies.
You can sit out for a couple hours without s bite some days and all of a sudden BAM!!! you can catch your limit in five minutes.... Other days it can be non stop. And usually when the coho aren't biting you can catch a mess of smelt. Although you can still get skunked from time to time to.

My new smelt rod.... Super light weight.
Custom made by my friend Patrick.
He had his own brand MAGs custom rods.
He has clientele all over the world.
His rods are featured on several TV outdoors shows... He finds a lot of television shows himself. It wasn't so long ago he was a kid in trouble and I'm really proud of him for turning himself around. I really wish I would have been able to do what he has done. But you know the pitfalls of being a kid having kids I did the best I could to keep them get an clothed. But enough of that... Patrick really is doing a great job and is running a real first class operation. Every rod he hand makes too.

Here's a better picture of the rod..... I know it's not exciting to you all... But it is too me.
I have to put a reel on it... But they are all in a bucket in the back of my truck I'll set it up when we get to the lake.
This tiny rod is super light weight...I had it made 16" But lightering enough to detect the bite of a smelt thanks we fish 60plus feet deep.
