I read that some tribes grew some things for a season before moving on.
I don't know what it is they grew though.
I've read they didn't farm as such.
New to the thread, but I think you are correct there was some farming done because I think I read the Native Americans had corn and shared it with the white men that came. But I am thinking it depended on the tribe and their location (both weather related and where on the map) if they herded animals or farmed and how much. Because that's part of the controversy in American history because I read that many tribes in the north east from VA west to IL and north there were some tribes like in the old western movies stereotyped but many many tribes that were different from the rest of the world but were supposed to be "civilized" (had government, some buildings they lived in etc etc etc, shame we white folks killed most of them out, esp. since it was basically racism and ideological reasons they were killed),
