Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So-so. Guts been messed up since the 1st chemo treatment, from one extreme to the other. Supposed to have another treatment tomorrow. Had to skip the last one 'cause white blood cells were too low due to one of the chemo meds. Does that sound like an endless loop designed to fill the medical coffers, or is it just my imagination?

Hair started falling out last week. Got so bad I said H3LL with it & shaved off what was left a little bit ago. I was told by one doctor that I wouldn't lose my hair, that I probably wouldn't by another, and that I would by another! I can't trust any of them anymore.

Other than that, everything's just peachy!

That's a tough go! :hugsNot getting any straight answers just makes it worse. :rant Luckily, you're a natural born butt kicker! Feel better soon & go kick some cancer butt!!!:hugs:hugs:hugs

I have a concrete floor in my house with a drain. The problem is often finding someone who knows how to lay concrete. The builders that did the floor here didn't.:he
Despite going to great lengths to explain the importance of expansion joints, fine mesh reinforcing and where it should go and how to suspend the lower reinforcing steels above the grade, what mix to use etc, I got what I got.
I've got some cracks. Nothing serious but.........
I've never been a carpet fan. If you live in the house then carpets are impossible to keep clean and of course they are a mite haven.
I couldn't have the chickens in if I didn't have a concrete floor.

I'm not a fan of carpets either because I have pretty severe allergies. I can get away with no carpet because of the climate here, but if I lived in cold country I'd be in trouble.

So what.... the carpet was THAT old and dirty I never noticed the rest???? :idunno

Selective Blindness is a self defense mechanism that our brain blesses us with (until someone important comes to visit & the veil is pulled resulting in painfully clear optics & utter panic.)

I love plastic 'wood' planks. They're a great way to reuse those pesky plastic bottles. What color did you choose? How will you keep your feet warm & the house insulated without the carpet?

I brought home more chicks from work that were weak from shipping. Managed to save them. They are "Prairie Bluebells" aka Easter Eggers, supposedly a hybrid of araucanas. They're sexed pullets, so these ones I think I will keep. I always like blue eggs.

I am assuming you work at a farm store, and I have a question... I purchased two Prairie Bluebell eggers from Hoover’s Hatchery via Rural King in early May. One turned out to be a black rooster, and one turned out to be a gray/blue color. Those were purchased for a friend who wanted blue eggs. I purchased two for myself in late May. One is a cockerel and one is a pullet, but both look exactly like barred rocks...except they are pretty obviously going to be smaller than BR. Do you have any that look barred? I’m so confused.

Well, the cross Hoover's said they did to make them is leghorn and araucana. I'm gonna guess it was actually ameraucana, because none of them have tufts but some have muffs.

Leghorns are often barred, you just can't see it in their plumage. So if their original cross had some barred leghorns in the mix, then it would totally be possible to have barred ones. That said, none at my store have ever been barred, and it's possible that your Rural King mixed them up and labeled something else as Prairie Bluebells. Do you have pictures of them?
