Hi Penny! :frow All beautiful, cuddly looking snuggle bears you've got there. :love

If you're going to train him bobby-j you should be okay.
I plan on working with him. I think I'll follow Sour's advice and keep the cats locked up for a bit longer than planned. Hopefully I can tame them and show him that they belong here. Of course, teaching Ruger to leave them alone doesn't mean the coyotes won't kill them. I used to have a dozen cats down around the barn and coops. One summer when we had corn all the way around the place, my cats disappeared within a few weeks. That fall, when DH was combining corn, he chased 3 coyotes out of the field. (I hate coyotes!)
These are the two current sofa ornaments. They will try and kill any cat the find here.View attachment 1939803This is Blacky. He was the last of the farm dogs that have been bred here for at least four generations of humans. Blackie would take on a wild boar and has the scars to show for it.
What kind of dog is Blacky? He's built a lot like Ruger. We're not sure exactly what Ruger is. He was advertised as a lab and golden retreiver mix. We're pretty sure he has Redbone Coonhound in him. He'd probably take on a wild boar, too, if we had them.

Glad your ram knocked some sense into the dog that chased him. The dog I had before Ruger used to chase my horses. No matter what I did, he wouldn't quit. Until one day, my big QH gelding kicked him, rolled him, and then tripped over him as he was rolling. No injuries, but the dog kept a respectful distance after that.

Yeah wasn't a problem...I was doing that so all I would catch is crappie.
But I have to tell you White's....I know how much you love Crappie... And I do love to catch them. They are a good fighting fish fun to catch. But I think Bluegills are a better table fare. Just my opinion. I like crappie well enough. But the Gills are just better to me.
Been a while since I've had Crappie; just finished a plate of Gills a couple hours ago.
