Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Crazy city people. This is a sign at someone's gym!
I have got to duplicate it, maybe add a bear in place of the gladiator and put on the old outhouse sittin' in our woods that the guys sometimes use during hunting season

You have something against gladiators ? :rant

@mixedUPturk I looked up the crab boil. and Its got quite a bit of preservative and coloring... I think I may just scramble up my own mix... a little lighter on the heat side.

Some peppers I can handle others give me problems. Hopefully that will change in time. But for now I am trying to KISS on the hot stuff. Even Vinegar gives me issues but only if I eat massive quantities... Don't ask.

Um er I better essplain. I LOVE Sweet Cherry Peppers. Only very mild spice but very vinegary.... I had a jar open and was researching on the internet... And my throat started hurting... so I drank some water and it was better... working away now my throat was really hurting... I Love Cherry peppers... I started to fish for one more... and the Jar was empty... OMG 12 oz jar... Gone Poof Nada.... Da mit... I couldnt taste for a week. even foods I could handle before hurt to eat... Did a scorcher on my throat.

I have another jar in front of me.... un opened... and its calling my name. But I will resist untill I can put it away after serving up two or three or five for a snack... Gotto still learn moderation.

Best of luck learning moderation and with mixing up your own spice combo!

I water bathed the first 11 jars today, that was about half of the eggs :th

I read the back lable and it says: ....blend of essential oils of Cayenne pepper, bay leaves, cloves, thyme and marjoram some where was also mentioned Paprika Which can be spicy as well.

So Bayleaf, Cloves, Thyme, Marjoram, and Paprika... I have some pickling spices and I think that is all in there... Except Cayenne.

I love the fact that yours is a five to one ratio of vinegar to water.

I'm a mix my own spice kinda girl too.

I got my 1st batch of pickled quail eggs all wrong this past year. It didn't help that I used balsamic vinegar & crammed them all in one huge jar. Between the bad peel job, the red spices & the black vinegar, the jar looked like something from an old RKO movie.

The taste & texture was weird too, almost like blue cheese (which I'm not a fan of.) DH said he would eat them if he had to, but wouldn't be snacking on them on purpose. I eventually threw them out & so far have been afeared of trying again.

:idunno I look at pickled eggs like pickled pigs feet .Yep I don't eat either .And for some reason mayonais just should not be on eggs or chiken. :( Rainy day here in the vally .Not happy at all . I guess I'll put my flippers on and go feed .
Isnt Mayo a required food group? Though deviled eggs can be made with mustard alone... but the may gives it creamyness. 🤪
