Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

My favorite snow shovel over the years, is showing a lot more wear & tear than I am. Can't find any I like with all the steel core, or hard plastic and such that are just too heavy - to add to the weight of shlepping snow from one place to another.

See that the back up shovel stored in the garage (never used) must have met with an accident. The handle is cracked.:rant
Never shoveled snow... Mud Yep... to drain the lake out of the arena...

My MIL is from MI & she’s always cold when she comes out here no matter what time of year. She & SIL will be here in 2wks & SIL wants to stay in a hotel one night so she can swim all day. I told her I’d drop her off anywhere she wants to go, but there’s no way me & the kids are getting in a pool in January. She thinks we’re crazy .. We KNOW she is.
Usually the Hotel pools are green around January... With them water bugs that have oars. Kind of like the pond in summer...

You know tourists. She’s in a bathing suit slathering baby oil on her self to try to get a tan & we’re huddled together shivering in hoodies.

I bet it’s nice & sunny at your place today. We’ve been socked in with pea soup every night here for days & have a damp chilly overcast today that won’t burn off.
Probably not.... it was foggy here in town though.

I really need to drive up to home and check out the damage 8 years of vacancy has really done to it. And how big of a tractor its going to take to fix the driveway.

When DH and I were first married, we drove to AZ to visit my grandparents in February. It was 70*, and there was a pool, so Grandpa's cousin and I went swimming. We were the only ones in the pool, and the Arizonians were all wandering around in jackets, looking at us like we were crazy!

I might consider it if it were 70* outside & the pool was heated (probably not, but maybe) but 56*…. No way.
56*in CA is colder than it sounds. I remember when we lived in WA. I flew out of SeaTac airport & it was 33*. It felt a little brisk so I was wearing jeans, a sweater & gloves. When I got off the plane in LAX it was 53* & I thought I was gonna freeze to death.
