Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So, she made it up the driveway....

We got a bunch of stuff...

Wowsers!

Sunshine!!! Already? I assumed you were talking about poultry. This makes MUCH more sense. She’s beautiful! 😍Are you keeping her name? What does existing bird think? Jealous of the new bird palace I bet.

Old bird, tiny cockatiel, named Baby Bug, hasn't even seen Sunshine yet.

Baby Bug is in the school room, and that MONSTER cage that Sunshine has is in the bookroom/hallway.

So far both Sunshine and Baby have been quiet...so they do not know that they are not only birds.

And yes, Sunshine will keep her name, she is 15, her owner got her as a baby, so we are only owner number 2 (unless you want to count her breeder as an owner). Her owner was getting worried about what would happen to Sunshine when she died, since Subshine should live to age 40 or 60 or some such.

I had posted a photo of my youngest on Facebook with him feeding our cockatiel a pancake, and mentioned that he had made the pancakes specifically for the bird.

She saw that and thought awesome, young kid that likes parrots..... when she found out that ALL five of my kids would love to have Sunshine, she decided that we would be the perfect home.

:barnie I want everything!!!!! :lau

I looked on parrot toy sites..... :drool

Her owner has not been feeding her all that well....

So I want to introduce her to .... well.... everything.... of course not too quickly so that we freak her out...

But Sunshine is already pretty mellow, which is cool.

We put some of the cockatiel's pellets into Sunshine's cage, and I have asked for a bunch of samples from different companies for cockatoo sized pellets...

Luckily, I had enough old parrot stuff that we were able to make 3 large chewy/destructive toys for her.

But her owner had little bells in her cage...the ones that are easy for large birds to remove and eat the clappers ... so bad!

Anyway, so I was looking for safe bells to buy for her, and saw all of these cool fun foraging toys. You put the food in, and the bird has to figure out what to slide or pull or whatever to get to the food.

I also want to make a huge ceiling suspended bird gym for her in the school room. We have a little already for the cockatiel, but Sunshine is so much bigger, we need to add some big bird stuff.

So sorry We have just wet soggy down here :th
Same here I am so sick of mud .

I agree with her .It must be great having a big bird. When we were young mom worked in a pet store .We got to look at them .Nashville zoo has a keet interaction cage .Grand kids love that .So I' guessing that you don't have a tank water heater on your plow truck? Old John deere tractor has one ,and one skid loader. Takes about thirty minutes to warm them enough to start .

Something is wonky with the electric on the plow truck, so we keep running the battery out. :idunno
