Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Our schools are closed starting on Monday for three weeks.
My sons Work will be closed starting on Monday... My guess that will be two or three weeks.
Fortunately for him the what ever the duration is the company will pay average pay per week. He works 36 hours I believe. The Midway is a big tourist attraction They are the only maritime museum that makes its own money and doesnt rely on funding from the government.

I heard the lines around Costco were split around the building one line devoted to Toilet paper. I dont know what the other line was for I was listening in at the coffee shop. The streets are almost empty. Even on a Saturday and Sunday there is normally alot of traffic Not now.

Its reminicent of the gas lines we all lived through in the seventies. Only worse.

I hope amazon ships and delivers the things I ordered yesterday online.

But most of all I hope they get a handle on the virus soon. I hear Italy is devistated.
21,157 infected 1400 dead.

It is horrid... but probably not as bad as it sounds.

If you realize that probably only the seriously sick are going to the hospital to get tested... the percentage dying from the virus is probably way lower than the numbers suggest...

Still terrible.... but... not as terrible as it looks at first glance.

Had I known. I could have picked up the spilled cotton from the field down the road.I remember when we couldn't wait for the new sears and robucks catalog to come in the mail .Course that was before all this slick paged magazines came around. That's when the tolit paper took over .Was always a good Ideal to read a few pages ahead .And all this time cityfolks thought you took the news paper to the outhouse to read.:idunnokinda miss the good ole days when going to take a dump was a real adventure.

Hello, Pond!
It's bonkers here, too. Went to the "big town" yesterday to get some building materials from Menards so that when my school closes, we have a project. We're hoping to build a new greenhouse before DH starts fieldwork. We also stopped at Walmart to pick up a couple of things. Fortunately, TP was not one of the items I needed. Toilet paper, bottled water and cold & flu medicine shelves were all bare. It's bonkers!

Living the life we do, we'll be fine if school is shut down for a couple of weeks. We have three freezers and a stocked pantry filled with food. I actually stocked up on TP last time I went to Costco (before I knew there was going to be a crisis). It would be nice if common sense were to prevail, but it's too late for that.

I'll never understand the facination with bottled water. Most of it is nothing more than tap water
