Morning Pondites Hope this a great day for all on the pond.

Long weekend almost over. Hoping all the mothers had a great mother's day .Cooked Wife salmon and baked sweet potato and broccoli..Nice card for Ben and finished planting the garden.Sitting here looking at a sound asleep wife and a wide awake Ben.

Somehow this ended up in my backyard today:

How did it get from the pond to my place?? It was fighting with my dog in the driveway when we first saw it. Fortunately Ruger came right in when I called him off (I think he may have been a bit relieved to have permission to stop guarding and protecting), and the beaver went and hid behind the a/c unit in the corner behind the garage and house. Over 2 hours later and it’s still there. Hopefully Ruger didn’t do too much damage and it will leave during the night and find its way home.

Never seen a wild beaver.I have seen trees they chewed down . Dog is braver than me .

There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity - not sure which side of that line the dog was on tonight. DH says the beaver probably weighs 50 lbs or so. It’s still huddled in the corner of the house.

Now I am worried that it will eat that AC unit... overgrown rodents that they are....



Can't you lean out a window with a broom and shoo it AWAY from all expensive property???

@bobbi-j that sounds like weird behavior for a beaver. Has Ruger had his rabies shot, and did the beaver leave ? Good morning Peeps of the Pond.

We checked on it frequently - it just huddled there for a few hours. It was gone when I checked just before I went to bed.
