I have been in that area.

We were on our way to Canada for a week of fishing and to get there we crossed the Mackinaw Bridge.

We made a stop either before or after the bridge.

There was a place to fish. We had our five year old daughter with us. We let her fish and it cost so much per fish. We let her fish for our dinner. She had a ball.

The area is beautiful.

Cooled down here over the weekend a bit, with rain off and on all weekend. Which of course just makes it humid as hell. Walk outside and sweat. Ugh.

And good proper spangles!

I took some photos of my Spitz a month or so back..... and while looking at the photos.... it suddenly occurred to me... without noticing, at all, I have bred OUT spangles. :rant I had been looking so much at other stuff... tail set, general form, toe defects, ear lobe color... depth of base feather color....

And now ya look at my flock... tail set is so much better... base color is good and deep, crests are way improved.....

And uh.... no spangles. Sorta "I wanna be lace but failed"

The ENTIRE flock... except for one squirrel tail rooster.

Just... wow.... :th

Oh no!! Pardon while I giggle, but I totally understand. It’s easy to get caught up in certain characteristics and ignore others. I seem to get hung up on combs. Probably because I missed a sprig once, and sold the better guy, then realized I messed up.
I’ve had a heck of a time getting more pullets. I’ve hatched a bunch of boys, but not so lucky with females. My last young pullet died out of the blue! I now have a young pair from this pair, so hopefully I’ll be able to build them up a little.
